    Cybersecurity challenge 404 CTF

    From April 20 to May 12, 2024 online, the Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure (DGSE) and Telecom SudParis, in partnership with OVHcloud and VivaTech, are running the 3rd 404 CTF, a Capture The Flag challenge designed by our cybersecurity club HackademINT. This year’s main theme will be: Sports.

    Are you a student, a professional in new technologies, a fan, a beginner, a specialist, an expert? During three weeks, whatever your level, test your skills during this individual CTF. The winners will be awarded during the Viva Technology exhibition in June.

    This competition gathered nearly 3000 participants during its second edition in 2023. It comes as an illustration of the current partnership between the DGSE, Telecom SudParis and Institut Mines-Télécom with a focus on digital sovereignty.

    From June 1 to July 28, 2024, Telecom SudParis is running a Summer School for young entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs: engineering students from Telecom SudParis, students from the IMT-BS business school and engineering students from ENSIIE.

    This program consists of structuring and growing an idea into a project in 2 months, thanks to immersive workshops and coaching led by experienced entrepreneurs. Join this high-level program and develop your entrepreneurial spirit!

    REBOOT Disrupt’ Campus, funded by Bpifrance as part of the Future Investment Program (2017), supports emerging entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in the digital transformation field. As a key player in your project, you’ll receive support and skills development through :

    Open IMT 2024

    From Monday, April 22 to Thursday, May 16, 2024 in Evry-Courcouronnes (Ile-de-france), students and FFT-licensed players will compete in the 21st edition of Open IMT tennis tournament. This competition is run by Telecom SudParis first-year students as part of the GATE® teaching program.

    Since 1999, this competition has established itself as the largest student-organized tournament in the Ile-de-France region and the one with the highest prize money. Open to men’s singles, it welcomes around 200 participants each year, including players ranked between 300th and 500th in the world professional players’ ranking (ATP).

    VivaTech is the largest European event dedicated to startups and technologies. This sixth edition will take place from May 22 to 25, 2024 in Paris Porte de Versailles, Paris. 

    Institut Mines-Télécom will present the technological gems from the incubators of the group’s institutes. P4S, JABU and CLOUD DATA ENGINE are just three of the companies featured on IMT’s booth L18.

    And on the booth C44 of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, five of developing innovations for society and industry, present their nuggets: BPARTNERS, CELLAVEN, MOBICRAWL, EX9 and SHARE ID

    This start-up saves time and customers for craftsmen, and improves responsiveness for local authorities. It applies symbolic reasoning to deeplearning to qualify detected objects for decision support. This solution has developed a hybrid recommendation system, transforming the reasoning of craftsmen and local authorities into a directed knowledge base for detecting objects of interest (roofs, vegetation, signage, etc.) and applying reasoning to qualify the object (state of deterioration over time, inherent risks, etc.).

    Winner of the ” Digital Medical Devices ” prize at the latest Digital Start-up Trophy organized by our incubator IMT Starter, Cellaven frees scientists from the drudgery of in vitro cell culture by offering NESTOR, a robot specifically adapted to the needs of R&D teams (academic, CRO, biotech and pharma). Based on patented technology, NESTOR is easy to use, affordable and compatible with flasks and plates already in use in laboratories.

    Telecom SudParis celebrates Erasmus Days

    On Thursday October 10 on our Evry-Courcouronnes campus, join us to hear testimonials from alumni and engineering students from Telecom Sudparis who have taken part in Erasmus+ mobility programs.

    The Erasmus Days have become a major European event, held in France and around the world. It’s an opportunity for European actors and citizens to demonstrate the usefulness of Europe in concrete terms, and to share their successful international experiences.

    On our campus, 14 engineering students currently on international mobility in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Vietnam took part in poster-making to celebrate the event.

    The city of Evry-Courcouronnes and its partners will be hosting the Student Welcome Party on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 4pm to 8:30pm on Place des Droits de l’Homme et du Citoyen in Evry. This free event is open to all local students and apprentices.

    It’s an opportunity for students from different establishments to meet up, enjoy and share a friendly, lively time together in this new school year, led by our BMP Club sono and Club AbsINThe.

    The program includes dance show, concerts jazz and pop-rock with the group 251, food and drink, creative workshops (DJ and dance), prizes to be won and lots of other surprises.

    Maryline Laurent, professor and director of RST – Réseaux et Services de Télécom – at Telecom SudParis chairs the ARES 2023 program committee at the 18th ARES 2023 (Availability, Reliability and Security) international conference. The event brings together researchers and operators in the field of IT security and privacy. This year’s event will be held in Benevento, Italy, from Tuesday August 29 to Friday September 1, 2023.

    ARES 2023 will welcome four guests of honor: Elisa Costante, Pierangela Samarati, Michael Bronstein and Mireille Hildebrandt.

    ARES 2023 will be hosted by the International Conference Proceedings Series published by ACM ICPS. ARES is classified as a B conference in CORE and A2 in Qualis.

    Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro will host a seminar at SystemX “Cybersecurity in Critical Sectors – Ten years later”

    Professor at Telecom SudParis’ Networks and Services Department, Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro will host  a seminar at SystemX Technological Research Institute on the subject of “Cybersecurity in Critical Sectors – Ten years later”, on July 5, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

    This on-site and remote seminar will focus on protecting critical sectors, from energy distribution to industry, supply chain and IoT, from cybersecurity threats. It will also look at how physical components exchanging information in real time with IT and other digital technologies can be misused.

    The seminar will also cover at how the use of experimental platforms (including protocols and standards) can be used to test and validate research initiatives.

    Telecom SudParis attends Privacy Research Day

    Telecom SudParis and its teacher-researcher Maryline Laurent are taking part in Privacy Research Day, an academic conference on data protection organized by the CNIL on June 14, 2023. This multidisciplinary event will see international researchers present their work.

    This conference will offer the opportunity to create bridges between researchers and regulators. During the day, expert in different fields will present their works and discuss their impact on regulation and vice-versa.

    This interdisciplinary day is aimed at a broad audience who is familiar with privacy, data protection and regulation. The objective is to start a discussion between, legal experts, computer scientists, designers, researchers in social science. Researchers and experts from any field related to data protection are invited to attend and be part of the conversation.

    For attendants, this is also the chance to discover innovative research: studies, tools and solutions will be presented to them which might inspire new ways of perceiving and fulfilling their missions and draw the contours of the tomorrow’s privacy.
